Day 48 - Worth Matravers to Poole - 15.3m / 6:06 - last day!

The last day of the path!! We start back at Worth Matravers, a bit broken from the day (and night!) before. It’s a beautiful start to the day once again. We have also gained another hairy companion - William!

We are straight onto the Purbeck cliffs and disused mines...

Some of it looks a bit precarious!

We are straight onto Dancong Ledge in the sunshine. Very tempting to go and have a dip...

We hit Durston Point and the lighthouse - time for a gratuitous tourist shot with me and the boys.

Once we round the head and the castle, we get our first glimpses of Swanage.

Very busy today with the weather being as good as it is.

Here we pick up some new companions for the next leg 😀

A fairly long climb out of Swanage gives us great rewards.

I think these dudes might be enjoying themselves...

And then we are onto Old Harry’s Rocks with no-so-Old-Harry.

And a spot of lunch in the sunshine.

Before embarking on our final few miles to the end of the path through Studland... interrupted only by this - we can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, oh no, we’ve got to go through it! (Zoom in on this picture if you like!)

Olivia is un-impressed but it is a new experience! Nice to get our boots off and walk the last few miles barefoot into Poole Harbour.

We can see the chain ferry up ahead - our final destination...

And here we are. 650 Miles and 48 days after we started at Minehead. Feels very strange but an amazing experience. Challenging and so rewarding.

Life is like a box of chocolates...

Some lovely people to end the experience with...

Only time now for beer in the sunshine...

Thanks so much for all the support and love during the trip! You know who you are...
