Today is a very difficult day to complete the blog for. I have probably included far too many photos for the casual observer. But I am not going to apologise because, whilst being up there with the hardest day on the path, it was also one of the most spectacular.
We start from Osmington Mills - the sea is calm like a mill pond, which we rarely see. It is going to be a spectacular day.
I am joined, initially, by these two amazing gentlemen.
Immediately, we are doing massive climbs and big drops.
We’re glimpsing Durdle Dor in the distance but we still have a long way to go.
The Jurassic Coast is delivering again. The colour of the rock has changed again also as we reach the end of the 95 miles of this coast...
We are on top of the world.
A new member joins our squad of intrepid adventurers at Lulworth.
The sea is pristine, clear and very inviting.
Normally, you can’t go through the army ranges here, except at weekends. It is necessary to complete the path and some of the most strenuous walking is here.
There are some massive ascents and descents.
And simply stunning views...
A lot of really tough walking though!
These shelves are formed by the different hardness of rock and what is washed away and what isn’t.
This is a hotel at Kimmeridge Bay - it only has one room for two people - and the largest waiting list in the UK!
We have covered a serious amount of ground today but still a long way to go.
And the big hills have definitely not finished!
The rewards are still satisfying our aching muscles...
The sunshine is starting to fade into evening but we aren’t there yet...
One last total calf killer before we can look to head into the village...
Finally, we reach Worth Matravers and the Square and Compass for a very welcome beer. We are knackered!
We are continuing to raise money for Meningitis Research - very many thanks to all who have donated so far. Please CLICK HERE or copy and paste this link if you would be so kind as to join them: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/steve-schrier
