A spectacular day on the path with stunning scenery and quite taxing!
We start bright and early in Fowey - a lovely place.
Onto to the ferry at Fowey to Polruan, no so busy this time of day except for a few locals.
Fowey looks great front the water in this big natural harbour
Polruan is also very pretty and the first part of the walk today is through the village
We are soon out onto the path and into the squelchy mud again.
The cloud is low now but the sun is already starting to breakthrough and it is going to be a wonderful day
What seems like only a few miles to go, is going to be fun and hard.
The climbs are upon us as soon as we leave and so are the rewards.
The beach here is called Lantic Bay and is golden and beautiful. The tide is still quite far in so we don’t make the steep climb down to it - the only way to get there.
We still have some distance to cover
We arrive at Lansallos Cove which is a small smugglers beach - it is easy to see how boats could go undetected going to/from here.
And a very cool passage back to the path.
There are so many nice things to look at
But the path is unrelenting today in ascents and descents
We see some seals here playing around together near the rocks
And we arrive at Polperro
Which is another small fishing town with a small harbour - it feels overrun with tourists today.
But it is still very pretty
We leave quickly before Harry can get any ideas from this guy...
It really is a beautiful day now and the terrain softens slightly
This is Talland Bay which has a really nice beach cafe - feels like lots of people here too as we are used to near deserted beaches!
We are quickly back into the hills
This is St George’s island off West and East Looe - another working fishing harbour.
We will stay the night here
And family have arrived to share the last two days with us 😀
