Leaving Porthallow (nice little place with a good pub), we find the real half way sign marker (on the back of the poem we saw yesterday!)
After taking in some local knowledge on the weather forecast, we’re off...
The weather is actually supposed to be ok today, but you never know around here, as we are constantly reminded
Back to familiar territory quite quickly...
We are moving into Falmouth harbour - there are big ships anchored off here waiting for jobs or berths
We reach Gillian Creek. This is a river that you either have to walk around, which takes an extra few miles, or at low tide you can literally wade through. Luckily, we are at low tide.
So off with our boots and off we go
Lucky there is a local around to tell us where to cross - it ends up only being ankle deep.
Great views back over the creek as we climb again...
And to the picture postcard village of Helford - lots of yacht moorings here
It is a very pretty place and, after some sustinenence in the pub, we have to get the ferry
The ferry is on-demand and has to be called BT using this sign
Before coming over from Helford Passage
Which we get back to in a few minutes.
We climb again and start to see our destination highlighted by sunshine...
Reaching Meanporth it is time for an ice cream and play with the ball on the beach.
The sun is really out now...
But autumn is coming fast and the daylight fades quickly early evening
As we get into Falmouth where we can explore this evening before leaving again tomorrow.
Time for a hot shower
