Day 20 - Gurnards Head to Cape Cornwall - 12m / 5hrs

Woke up this morning to a beautiful sunny day with the cows being walked for milking right outside my window.

My head is buzzing with stats after breakfast...

Met up with the other guys and we make our way back to Gurnards Head. Seems we have been able to avoid the Zennor mermaids...

Along the path we are on top of the world immediately...

Scenery is spectacular again so I am just gonna post a lot of pics

Eating fresh watercress from the stream...

The Beach just before Pendeen Watch is amazing - Portuguese Men of War Jellyfish have apparently been washed up on this beach in the last few days, we are warned but we didn’t see any.

We elect to do some rock climbing to get out of the beach

And to the lighthouse

I am definitely not the one with the pipe...

We (literally) march into Pendeen for sustenance - curry soup!

Pendeen is the home of two famous large tin mines with massive remains. You can go down one here and see how it was for the miners - who didn’t usually live past 40!

Here the shafts go under the sea and it is said that the miners could hear the sea moving large boulders about above their heads in big storms.

No big storms today!

We were supposed to stop at Pendeen but decide to push on as it is so beautiful, to Cape Cornwall, just shy of Lands End and much more scenic.

Cape Cornwall is beautiful as we leave it.

I am staying in Mousehole this weekend and when I get back some monkeys have arrived 😀
