Day 17 - St Agnes (Trevaunance Cove) to Portreath - 8.3m / 3hrs

Short day picking up where we left off (soaked) on Wednesday last week after a 5 hour journey.

I welcomed new companions today on the walk - Matthew and his dog Bo who will be with us all week.

Alas, poor Harry cut his leg last Thursday while we were home. He has had stitches and can't run or walk fast for at least a week. We are trying to get him fit for next week on the path - fingers crossed!

The weather is amazing today - so different from  last week when we took our soaking.

And the scenery is, once again, on the money

The buildings here are an old tin mine at Wheal Coates - they are abandoned engine houses .

Matthew and Bo quickly slip into the step of things

And familiar style cliffs appear on the track, but with the ever-chaging composition of the terrain

We hit Porth Towan, where the family spent a very long, wet week a few summers ago. It is much sunnier today but brings back some great memories

Bo is definitely enjoying herself

We have already covered some distance and it is spectacular as always...

Don't tell Harry but I think I made a friend!

Some ascents and descents to get my friends into the swing of things

And we arrive in Portreath where it looks like someone has built a Bracknell housing estate in the middle of a Cornish harbour village. The accommodation is very nice and we enjoy a good meal.
