Day 13 - Port Isaac to Polzeath - 9m / 3:44.

It says at the in the Trailblazer book that if a medal could be awarded for challenges on the SWCP then it could be for the first three miles on the path today. Mrs Schrier was well up for a medal but would it be bronze, silver, gold... or chocolate?

We made an early start as we had to hit Polzeath in time to catch our cab for the train home.

Pausing briefly for a pic outside Doc Martin's cottage. We didn't even know it was still on TV!

Port Isaac is a pretty place and the weather is with us this morning...

It's not long before we are in familiar territory, looking back over yesterday's achievements

And then we get thrown a few curve-balls

But we prevail...

Challenging undulation, remote and tough, it is very beautiful

The "abandoned" village of Port Quin marks our completion of the severe 3 miles...

But unfortunately the medal shop is closed...

So we push on to a slightly less taxing route but no less rewarding...

The weather turns a few miles before our destination and we wrap up for the rain...

We round the headland to see Polzeath in the distance.

It's a big surfing beach and seems to be the place to be today...

And Mrs S gets her medal 😀

We head off tired and happy for the long journey home. I am back, alone, to Port Isaac on Sunday night to go through Padstow and onto Newquay next week...
