Mrs Schrier came to stay last night and was raring to go on the path this morning. Unfortunately, we had torrential rain through the night which didn't really let up until 9am. And then we we're off!
Give me that map! It is quite easy - the big blue thing is on the right and if it isn't, you have made a mistake...
No mistakes here...
One girl and her dog...
Rocky valley - nice!
Which way to Arthur? The remains of what is supposedly where King Arthur was born.
The cave at the bottom is supposed to be Merlins cave. But the whole thing feels like a tourist trap so we push on..
To Trebarwith Sand...
We get to the end of the beach, and our first day-in-a-day is done. Time for a quick fish finger sandwich and a Cornish Pasty for the good lady... the food in Cornwall is so much better!
Day 2 in our 2-days-within-a-day begins with a massive climb as the terrain changes again - the shape of things to come we find...
The sun is now definitely out!
We are going up and down again - the path is very remote here...
Happy days on sea...
Striding-Edge-on-sea 3
And the relentless ascents keep coming... fantastic in the sunshine...
Time for a pit stop...
Relentless and stunning... again!!
Mrs Schrier quote of the day (about Port Isaac) - "It's not getting any closer, dude!"
And so we finally arrive in Port Gaverne... it is next to Port Isaac.
Port Isaac is where they film Doc Martin and is overrun with grockles... this one was spotted outside our hotel - an old schoolhouse...
Time for a beer in the sunshine to celebrate our excursions... another 9m tomorrow before heading home...
