We began today, after a 4 hour train ride, back in Clovelly where we left off on Wednesday last week.
Onto the path and we come across this structure called The Cabin. Apparently, this is used for weddings on the SWCP. Nice view...
And rapidly we are into usual territory... with great scenery again... Up...
And down...
On the hunt for the North Devon squirrel - tastier than those in the Chilterns...
As the path gets steeper, the coves and cliffs yield amazing sights again....
Looking inland isn't exactly shabby today either...
It is very satisfying to look back and know that we have walked as far as the eye can see into the distance (and more!)...
What's your village doing for an idiot while you are here?
And so we make it to Hartland Point. This is where we will stop going West and start going South... it is where the Bristol Channel meets the Atlantic.
Time for a quick cuppa at the only refreshment place on the path today...
There is a famous lighthouse here. Now sadly closed to the public. The island in the background is called Lundy and has no cars - it is only 3 miles across and can be walked around in a day. This is the best view we have had of it...
Nice pitstop for lunch...
Come on - let's go...
It is difficult to describe how the scenery changes here and how spectacular it is so I am just gonna post some shots... truly wonderful in the afternoon sunshine and pretty challenging walking but worth every step....
And so we arrive at our accomodation an old
Coastguard cottage with continued amazing views in Stoke, just outside Hartland Quay.
Red sky at night...
